Rob Seidner

Job:
Human Resource Specialist, Office of Personnel Management (OPM)

Location:
Chicago, IL

Education:
Undergraduate: Bachelor of Arts Politics & Psychology, Brandeis University
Graduate:  Masters of Business Administration, Brandeis University; PhD student, University of Illinois-Chicago

What I do in my job:
I evaluate, audit and consult with other government agencies to ensure that the federal workforce is being efficiently and effectively managed so it may carry out vital missions with the highest quality employees in any industry.

Coolest Thing about my Job:
By working with so many different agencies, I am able to see all the great work public servants perform. I am continually amazed at the range of services the Federal government provides to improve the world. As an outsider, I am able to correct work-related issues that can improve morale and help agencies accomplish their missions.

Why I chose Federal Service?
I am able to make a big difference by working from within the government instead of lobbying from the outside.

Most Important Issue the Nation is Facing:
The need to partner with the rest of the world diplomatically on issues ranging from the environment/energy and trade and poverty, to peace and true freedom for individuals and groups.

Interests:
Volunteering, my pets (greyhound, cats, fish), traveling with my wife, going to museums and historic places
