Job:
Attitude Determination and Control Officer, NASA

Location:
Houston, TX

Education:
Undergraduate: Bachelor of Science Aerospace Engineering Sciences, University of Colorado at Boulder

What I do in my Job:
At NASA I am currently training to become a flight controller for the International Space Station.  The International Space Station is one of the largest international scientific projects.  Sixteen countries are currently working together to provide the technological expertise and resources necessary to complete the project.  My particular group is in charge of the Motion Control System that helps to orient and maneuver the Space Station.

Coolest Thing About my Job:
The coolest thing about my job is the fact that I am responsible for flying and maintaining a multi-billion dollar piece of hardware.  There are astronauts onboard 24-7 whose lives depend on my skills in my position.

Most Important Issue the Nation is Facing:
The most important issue currently facing our nation is an increasing lack of technical expertise among our young people.  The numbers of engineering and technical degrees is dwindling despite increasing demands for skilled professionals.

Interests:
My biggest interest outside of work is food. I love to cook, bake, and learn new techniques in the kitchen - but my favorite thing is to enjoy the food afterwards!
