Potential Web Intern Projects:
Multimedia development: Web development and design using web programming languages and the latest usability research:
Customer research and analysis:
Online marketing and Web 2.0 engagement: Create content and visuals for new multimedia products including audio slideshows, online tutorials, video and audio streaming, advertisements.
Implement a graphics and digital asset library.
Create interactive educational games for the Energy Kid’s Page.
Design and implement new “Online Newsroom” and “Consumer” portals.
Implement the latest web design standards and develop dynamic databasedriven applications for the agency’s web site.
Research capabilities of the Lyris listserv software and recommend and implement improvements to the agency’s electronic notification services
Design and implement an improved page architecture that uses flexible XML and CSS frameworks.
Use advanced web analytics software to analyze site traffic and user behavior.
Design focus groups and usability testing of undergraduate and graduate students for a redesign of our Jobs page (http://www.eia.doe.gov/jobs/).
Synthesize data and analyze trends from customer email, phone calls, site traffic logs, and customer surveys.
Create web content that is useful, customerfocused
and effective.
Use search engine optimization strategies across the EIA web site and monitor the impact.
Extend EIA’s energy education through Web 2.0 communities like
Wikipedia, Digg, Flickr, and others.
